4Rent ("we," "us," or "our") operates a property management platform that helps landlords manage rental properties, tenants, leases, maintenance, and payments. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services.

We collect information you provide directly when you register, create a landlord or tenant account, or use our services. This includes your name, email address, phone number, business details, property information, tenant records, lease data, and payment information. We use your information to provide and maintain the 4Rent platform, process rent payments via Stripe, generate lease agreements, manage maintenance requests, send notifications and reminders, communicate with tenants and landlords, comply with legal obligations, and improve our services. For landlords, we use your business details to populate lease templates and generate branded reports.
3. Payment Processing
Rent payments and subscription fees are processed through Stripe. 4Rent does not store full credit card numbers. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms and privacy policy.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: (a) service providers like Stripe and Google who help operate the platform; (b) your tenants or landlord as part of normal platform functionality (e.g., lease delivery, rent reminders, maintenance updates); (c) legal authorities when required by law. Landlords can view tenant information only for tenants linked to their properties.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel and is logged for auditing. Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Lease agreements, payment records, and communication logs are retained for the duration required by applicable laws and regulations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
7. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can update your profile information through the app settings. To exercise additional rights or request a data export, contact us through the Contact page. Tenants may update their contact information through the tenant portal.
8. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, authenticate your session, and analyze platform usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect platform functionality.
9. Third-Party Services
4Rent integrates with Google (Calendar, Docs, Gmail), Microsoft Outlook, Stripe, and WhatsApp. These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data. We recommend reviewing their policies when connecting these services.
10. Children's Privacy
4Rent is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.
